Ascent to this mountain starts with a traverse across a terminal slope leading to a moderately inclined snow slope. This turns into a screen after some time, and after that, it is mostly rocky terrain for some time. Depending on the weather conditions, climbers only need fixed protection like ice screws and snow stakes to navigate this mountain. The climb is, however, not an easy walk. To reach the summit you have to climb boulder fields, terminal moraines and angled snowlopes. But with our experienced team at your command, you will be able to climb this mountain with ease. DAYS ITINERARY
Shatung Peak Expedition Itinerary
Expand AllDay 1: Arrival in Islamabad
Arrival in Islamabad and transfer to the hotel. Spend the day at leisure, exploring the city or resting after your journey.
Day 2: Islamabad to Skardu
Take a domestic flight from Islamabad to Skardu (weather permitting).
Enjoy stunning aerial views of the mountains. Upon arrival, transfer to your hotel.
Day 3: Rest day in Skardu
Spend the day acclimatizing and exploring Skardu.
Visit local markets, the Skardu Fort, or enjoy a walk along the Indus River.
Day 4: Drive to Deosai Top and overnight at Katishow Haral
Drive from Skardu to Deosai National Park, known as the "Land of Giants."
Continue to Katishow Haral for an overnight stay in tents.
Day 5: Trekking around Katishow Haral
Explore the beautiful surroundings of Katishow Haral with trekking and acclimatization walks in the serene wilderness.
Day 6: Trek to Base Camp
Begin the trek to Shatung Peak Base Camp.
The trail passes through rocky and scenic landscapes, leading to a campsite at the foot of the peak.
Day 7: Summit attempt and return to Skardu
Start early for the climb to Shatung Peak's summit (5,250m).
After a successful summit, descend to Base Camp and return to Skardu the same day (weather permitting).
Day 8: Flight to Islamabad
Take a return flight to Islamabad (subject to weather conditions).
