The safari starts from Gilgit, the colorful city of the northern region of Pakistan. Located in a narrow valley which is bordered by the magnificent mountains and Gilgit and Hunza rivers, this town has indeed many stories to tell. Visit and shop in the crowded local markets and find social artifacts like the Kargah Buddha, iconographically depicted on cavesides, revealing the area’s erstwhile Buddhist influence.
The road from Gilgit goes further to Hunza Valley, which has been described timelessly as a heaven on earth. This valley is one of natural calm and serenity that is beyond comparison. Enjoy views of Rakaposhi, Ultar Sar, and Ladyfinger Mountain which stand high with many frosty walls shining in the sunlight. It is established in the center of the Hunza Valley; therefore, it is the most culturally relevant city known as the town of Karimabad, where visitors might walk along the city’s streets, try local food, and communicate with the population.
Tourism attractions in Hunza include visiting the Northern area of the country where Baltit and Altit forts are located. Sited precariously on awesome cliffs, these chronicles of elegant architecture give an interesting insight into the history of the place while giving a spectacular view of the valley. Enjoy the delicious locally grown Hunza apricot and also be ready to witness the warm welcome of the Hunza people.
The journey intensifies at the Khunjerab Pass, considered the highest paved unattended border in the world. Located at an altitude level of 15034 feet, this pass has a perfect view of the Karakoram mountains and serenity. Road through the KKH, known as the eighth wonder of the world is an astonishing and thrilling experience where roads through sharp twists and turns through some of the most; stringent geographical terrains in the world.
