OVERVIEW
Join the Gilgit, Phandar, Shandur, Chitral, and Kailash Jeep Safari which is an exciting trip to northern Pakistan and covers the Natural and Cultural beauty of the country. Then tracking up to the beautiful valleys of Phander, the world-famous Shandur Top, and then into culturally significant Kailash Valleys, each place is completely different from the other.
It all starts when the traveler reaches Gilgit, a fast-growing town situated in the picturesque region of the Karakoram Range. Situated at the crossroads to the northern areas, Gilgit itself is an attraction with the merging of the fabulous rivers, colorful and lively bazaars, and archeological sites such as Kargah Buddha.
In this safari, after Gilgit, the destination is Phandar Valley which is generally known as the gem of the north area. The phenomenal grassy field with low-rising hills and the captivating light blue Phandar Lake give it a serene background. If one is inclined to observe the beauty of nature at its best or just for a nature trail around the lakeside, Phandar is one’s nature retreat.
Subsequently, the journey takes visitors to Shandur Pass generally known as the ‘the Roof of the World’. This high altitude ground at 3700 meters is the venue of the Shandur Polo festival in which teams from Gilgit Baltistan and Chitral used to play polo in a very exciting manner. The open terrain filled with so many beautiful flowers and beautiful mountains is even stunning when the festival is not on.
The journey proceeds to Chitral, a land of towering sceneries enclosed by the mighty Hindukush. Here tourism spectaculars include touring the historical Chitral Fort, visiting the Chitral River, and meeting with friendly Chitral people.
The last destination of the safari is the amazingly amazing Kailash Valleys, which mesmerize travelers with both cultural and natural sights. These valleys – Bumburet, Rumbur, and Birir – are inhabited by Kailash people who look like they have come out from the medieval ages, with their multicolored dressed up people and virgin customs. Yogurt shaped valleys of Kailash are surrounded by mountains and steamy green fields make it a unique place to see.
