Gasherbrum I Expedition Itinerary

Arrive in Islamabad, the capital city of Pakistan. Upon arrival, you will be transferred to your hotel where you will rest and prepare for your upcoming journey. This day will be spent adjusting to the time zone and preparing for the next steps in your adventure.
Day 2: Rest & Preparation Day, Islamabad
This day is dedicated to rest and preparation. You will take care of any remaining paperwork and finalize any necessary equipment or gear for the expedition. You can explore the city or relax in your hotel, ensuring that you are fully prepared for the journey ahead.
Day 3: Islamabad to Skardu (Flight: 45 minutes)
After breakfast, you will board your flight to Skardu, a city in the Gilgit-Baltistan region. Skardu is the main starting point for many mountaineering expeditions in the Karakoram range. The flight is scenic, offering great views of the mountains as you approach. On arrival, you will be transferred to your hotel to relax and acclimatize to the altitude.
Day 4: Sightseeing & Preparation Day, Skardu
Today will be spent in Skardu for sightseeing and further preparation. You will visit local sites and get familiar with the surroundings, and make any final arrangements for the trek. This is also an important acclimatization day to adjust to the altitude before the trek begins.
Day 5: Skardu to Askoli (7-hour drive)
In the morning, depart from Skardu to Askoli. The drive takes about 7 hours, passing through picturesque landscapes and villages. Askoli is the last settlement before you begin the trekking portion of the expedition. Upon arrival, you will set up camp and rest for the night.
Day 6: Askoli to Johla (4-hour walk)
This is the first day of trekking. After breakfast, you will start your hike towards Johla, a beautiful village located on the way to the base camp. The trek is moderate, and you will pass through forests and streams, setting up camp in Johla for an overnight stay.
Day 7: Trek to Paiju (6-hour walk)

Day 8: Trek to Khoburtse (7-hour walk)

Day 9: Trek to Urdukas (4-hour walk)

Day 10: Acclimatization Day at Urdukas

Day 11: Trek to Goro II (7-hour walk)

Day 12: Trek to Concordia (5-hour walk)
